I have been very busy silver-smithing and finding the perfect stones. I found some beautiful materials and am looking forward to my next show. I will place and announcement soon!
The "Ladies of the Lake" came by for wine and viewing my latest work on November 4th. I had the best time catching up with friends and meeting a few new ones. There is a fundraiser in a few days for a local homeless women and family shelter that we annually support together. This year I made a necklace and donated it to the silent auction. I am showing it off at the party to help raise the potential bids. Hope it works.
Time has a funny way for circulating around me and bringing up things and back people into my life in surprising ways. While I have never stopped making jewelry, I have gained recent inspiration for a new line, when a good friend from California contacted me about her latest show. We reminisced about the years we would show together in the big jewelry shows. In particular, the memory I had of the Chicago Show triggered the realization that I had strayed away from my original artistic inspirations. I find myself now split between two design paths. One is a modern filigree that conveys emotional stories, and the other a call back to strong statement art pieces.
